Parent and Carer Volunteers
The role of the PTA
Our academies really value the help and support of parents and carers – and the PTA are always looking for volunteers to help with the work they do to support our academies.
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is an organisation of parents and staff who are an active part of school life across our Trust and a great way to encourage closer links between home and school. PTAs are best known for their fundraising work, but they also have a useful social function too. Funds raised by the PTA are separate from the schools, and the PTA is responsible for managing these funds.
There are lots of ways you can help and support your child through the PTA. Offering to help with events, or at other times during the year, is so valuable. It doesn’t matter if you can’t help on a regular basis, or even if you cannot come into school. There are always tasks that can be done from home, even if you only have half an hour to spare e.g preparing raffle tickets. If you would like to be more involved, please contact your child’s school office and they will be able to introduce you to the PTA.
Supporting our Pupils’ Learning
We would welcome volunteers who are able to help with our pupils’ learning in areas such as reading, writing, helping with arts and crafts or just to work with our children.
If you are interested in finding out more about how you can volunteer with our pupils, please contact the academy directly as they will be really pleased to hear from you.
